Online education degree requires timing for good
grades
Have you considered an online education degree? Getting your degree online is
a great way to further your education. According to
the U.S. Census Bureau, people with advanced degrees earn 28% more than people
with bachelor’s degrees. People with bachelor’s degrees earn 34% more than
people with just high school degrees.
Educators expect quantity as well as quality postings
But working online to get your degree is different from a distance learning
program that works through correspondence. The big difference is that you’ll be
required to post timely responses in order to get full class credit. Most
schools with online degree programs expect you to post three to four times a
week for participation.
For example, at the University of Phoenix Online, participation is 10% of the
class grade. Students are required to post a minimum of four days out of a
school week. That means that you can’t wait to go online the last day of class
and post 100 postings online and expect to get full credit towards your
participation.
Besides the weekly requirements, most Educators at University of Phoenix require
you to post 2 to 3 postings online to count for a daily participation
requirement. When you post online, don’t do more than you need to. Most
educators only require 100 to 300 words per post. If you have more than that to
say, split your work into two posts.
If you run out of things to say personally online, most educators will accept
postings reflecting on current news or other articles as long as they’re related
to your classroom. While some educators may not pay close attention to what is
being posted, there are others that will not give you credit if they feel your
postings have nothing to do with your education.
