Narrative essay should use a little more “voice” than
other style papers
A narrative essay tells a story. Not a story in the sense of a fiction story
but basically with narrative essays, you’re talking to the reader as if they
were with you in the same room. While working on your
education, you’ll probably get assigned at least one essay that focuses on
narration as opposed to persuasion.

description
When working on narrative essays, don’t be afraid to show a little more
conversation or voice than you normally would in a more formal report. Narrative
essays are meant to be more personal sounding than other essays.
Probably the strongest thing you can do with your essay is to keep in mind who
the narrator is. While most narrative essays are written in first person (that
means you’re writing the paper from the first person point of view), you can
also write narrative essays in other points of view. Here, point of view, isn’t
talking about opinion, it’s talking about whose voice is doing the talking. For
example:
• I wrote the essay. (first person)
• You wrote the essay. (second person)
• She wrote the essay. (third person)
This is the same action, in three different points of views. When writing
narrative essays, most people find it easiest to write the essay in first person
(I wrote the essay.)
What ever you do, keep to one point of view. When writing from your point of
view, don’t suddenly change midway in the essay to what somebody else would say
about the same subject. Their point of view doesn’t count in your essay since
you’re already picked one person to narrate it.
