Free essays can help when used wisely
Often times when you’re faced with writing an essay, you’ll find yourself
stumped. Where to start? What to include? How to say it? Writer’s Block. That’s
when free essays can be helpful. Just make sure you don’t plagiarize it
outright. The same rule applies to your resume. It’s
important and helpful to look at other people’s resumes as examples and starting
point for your own but you don’t want to outright copy other people’s résumés.
Make sure your resume is your own work as well
You can use a free essay of the Internet to help you in the following ways:
• Often times a free essay can help you get a better handle on what it is you’re
trying to write as well. This is when you may not know enough about the topic
yourself but reading somebody else’s free essay may help you get a good handle
on the topic.
• Sometimes a free essay may have a reference in their bibliography that you’ll
find useful. You might not have come across that reference otherwise.
• It helps to see an example to make concrete what you have in your head. In
this case, the structure of somebody else’s free essay might help you structure
your own essay.
• If nothing else, a free essay should give you confidence. If that person wrote
it, so can I!
By the same token, you don’t want to outright copy other people’s resumes:
• The finished piece may not reflect your abilities at all.
• Your potential employer will find your plagiarism (if he or she discovers it)
very unethical and undesirable (unless he or she is a counterfeiter).
• You do yourself a disservice by copying other people’s resumes, you aren’t
really giving yourself credit for what you can do.
• Copying other people’s resumes can potentially be disastrous in an
interview if you get tripped on anything you copied
but have no knowledge about yourself.
