Best careers should take into account your abilities and your
dreams
How many of those best careers articles have you read in the past six months?
Any of those careers sound good for you? Just because
a career is on a hot-list doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily hot for you.
Consider what you’re good at doing and what you enjoy doing before you pick a
career just because it made somebody’s best top ten list.
Wondering what questions you should have for the interviewer?
Even with the best career options, your actual career path boils down to the
jobs that you take within it. When you’re trying to make the best impression
during an interview, the best way to do it may be to
not know all the answers. When the interviewer asks you, “Do you have any
questions?” make sure you say “Yes.”
Don’t ask pesky human resource questions. Use this time to demonstrate that
you’ve either been paying attention or that you know the company or industry
well. Ask the interviewer questions demonstrating you “get it” and want to know
about what’s going on with the company. The more animated the interviewer talks,
and especially if they start talking like you work there already, the better.
While any self-motivated job seeker would look at hot careers when considering a
job change, remember it’s one job at a time. The best career is one that you
enjoy with every job you take. Give every interviewer the same 100%; you never
know when a lukewarm first impression will turn into a match made in heaven.
